We highly recommend you find a ‘home’ for your child’s dental needs by one year of age. Kids who have a dental home receive more appropriate care, routine cleanings, and develop a better relationship with their dentist.
You should try creating a fun and enjoyable atmosphere on the way to the dentist which will help them have a more positive experience. We sit down with all of our patients and explain all procedures and what they should expect in a kid-friendly way. We will also address any questions you or your child may have.
When preparing for the dentist office ‘field trip’, please refrain from using words that can cause anxiety and uneasiness in a child’s brain such as; needle, scrape, pull, shot and drill. In our office, we refrain from using those anxiety-inducing words to help each child feel more comfortable.
